Everyone is told to practice gratitude at one point in their lives… but did you know there is a right way and wrong way to do it?
The art of practicing gratitude isn’t as simple as one may think. It is often written off as something to do if we have some extra time… and who has extra time nowadays, right?! But if you knew how the daily practice of gratitude could literally shift your current state, you may prioritize it a bit more.
Ya know that mind-block you hit when you try and write a gratitude list at the end of a a really hard day? Well, by following the steps below you will completely bypass that mind-block!
Step 01 – Track How You have Improved
If you’re undergoing any sort of self-development or building a business you probably have a priority list. Take a minute to track how you’ve improved on your priority list during that day. 2-3 small improvements a day is great!
Step 02 – Track the Efforts You Made
Next, take some time to go over 2-3 major efforts you made that day in pursuit of your goals. For example, say you’re working on taming a quick temper, if you stepped back in a stressful moment and removed yourself from the situation that day, that’s major effort!
Step 03 – List the Lessons Learned
Success is impossible without failure. If you experienced a set back or something you’re struggling with got the best of you, write it down.
Step 04 – Effortlessly create your gratitude list!
To create your actual gratitude list, pick one from each of the lists you’ve written from the steps above. Your gratitude list is done!
The wrong way to practice gratitude – Sit down at the end of the day and go over everything that happened that day. You are not able to come up with even one thing to add to your gratitude list. This leaves you feeling ungrateful and feeds a victim mentality all in one go.

The art of daily gratitude is a life-long journey and will become easier over time. From my experience, I can tell you it has imparted such a positive shift withing my day-to-day life.
